Good evening!

At 22h50 (more or less), we finally landed at the Dakar International Airport.
When arriving at the terminal, in front of us 4 huge queues for the customs police. It took us about 30 minutes for passport check and enter the country.

After that, at the baggage claim area confusion everywhere. There's dozens of people waiting for their bags and others that are inside the airport helping (?) and redirecting people. Since the airport and the baggage claim area are small, our bags came quickly. Everything looks ok!

With our bags in our hands, we walked for the exit. As we walked, we saw dozens of senegalese trying to sell mobile phone cards and other products. Of course they were "outside" the airport, but the division is made by a simple security bar...

Near the exit, we saw our local travel agent stand. The man asked us for our vouchers and asked us to wait a little bit for other passengers. Another young couple arrived and the man asked us to go with him outside the airport, leaving our bags. The police is at the aiport gates, so... We would be right back!

Outside, another general confusion. Hundreds of people trying to sell mobile cards and other things, offering taxi services, hotel stays, etc.
If you are not used to this things, I'm sure you will be scared.

BE CAREFUL!
Well... the man asked us to go with him inside a shop to change money. They offer good prices, but I'm not sure that the money is real or if this is a scam. So, we decided not to change money... we would do it at our hotel.

And so we came back to the airport and waited some more minutes for other passengers. I believe that this is a scam because they didn't asked the other group (8 pax) to go and change money at that shop... only two young couples.

All set! We are now a group of 12, going to the most different places.
It's now  time to leave the airport and travel to Saly (by car) and it's already midnight!

During the night time, it's a 1h30 journey to Saly, because there's not many trucks on the road. There's only one major road to enter and leave Dakar and during the day time, it's almost impossible to enter or leave the city without a few hours delay.

THE JOURNEY TO SALY
So our journey to Saly began...
There are no lights on the road and they always use maximum lights while driving at night (even when crossing other cars!!). Amazing... I guess that sometimes they drive by instinct.

We were very tired and at 1h30 in the morning (more or less) we finally arrived at Saly and our Hotel.
Don't forget to keep some coins to give the driver... Euros are welcome (of course)!

We checked-in at the bellboy took us to our room. Also here, don't forget to give some coins... again, Euros are welcome.

It's time to unpack and get to sleep... tomorrow it will be a relaxing day!

See you tomorrow...
