Hey Everyone,

Ive written a few blog posts before this, and even made a few 'vlogs' that I can upload once I can get my phone on wi-fi, so you'll be reading into the past a bit!
A few days ago we came down from the Thorong La pass, the tallest of its kind i'll have you know. And we've been making a sharp descent from the mountain range, which has been quite hard on the knees, actually making it more hard work to come down than to go up!
Last night we stayed in a place called Kagbeni, which has a Monastary behind a hidden door in the Hotel, which has a huge statue of a Buddha, the Woman explained that it had been in her family for 350 years and we all sat on the floor digesting our yak burgers feeling very spiritual as she told us the history of her town. she also told us not to take photo's which I did as soon as she turned her back.
the Annapurna Family has expanded to now 8 members (Me, a Canadian, A french Couple, and a Group of 4 French and Belgians) so last night in this place we were given a bedroom for 8 people which must have been some stable block before as it was really cold and looked as if the Porters usually slept in there. Anyway, so Gaelle, Lisa and I had all gone to bed, leaving the others upstairs chatting away in Parsletongue. Just as I was going to sleep I heard screams coming from the corner of the room. At first I thought it was some child outside or something, but then I heard Scream Scream Scream Nibble Nibble Scream. At this point I was in fear of my life. This sounded bigger than any imaginable Rat, but had a rodent like quality to its squeal, but sounded much more vicious, and hungry. As I was going through possible animals in my head, I thought what animal in the world lets their prey know their about to be eaten? By now I was petrified by this yelping munching animal that had somehow got into our room, that I started to hiss myself.
"Gaelle.... Gaelle...Can you hear that?" Gaelle is one half of the french couple.
"Yes...." Gaelle sounded a bit on edge but not wetting herself like me.
"What is it?" I asked
"I dont know, shall I turn on the light?"
"No!" I had no intention in battling this creature, and just hoped that if it was my bag it was eating, the insurance company would cover me for damage by monster. The animal was still taunting me fora couple of minutes, so I put in my ipod headphone to drown it out, safe in the knowledge that no animal could possibly climb the 30cm gap between my bed and the floor, and attempted to go to sleep, in the knowledge that the Beast of Nepal could well be in my sleeping bag too. my foot twitched, and i have never jumped so hard in my life.
in the morning there was no sign of the Beast, so whatever it ate, it must have left no trace at all, making it one of the deadliest creatures in the world, which makes me feel quite lucky I survived the whole ordeal..

Photo's etc are promised as always as soon as I have some more time to start uploading things!
miss you all!!!!

We are all having Breakfast on the sunny coast of cali and we are off surfing later, Grandad really knows how to hang ten! After our cheese and egg bagel with sausage and bacon on the side, we are planning to have a bit of a rest day (HOLLISTER) but we have lots planned like Universal and Hollywood celeb safari. We are dying to know what the creature actually was. When we get back we can trade pics, slight difference of cultures.
