What I did
The Rock Hewn Churches
We set off from Gondar with the flea situation worsening (now both covered in bites. I have 28 bites along my front waist line.) to catch the 5am 7 hour bus to Gashena. (Our first proper local bus).
From Gashena we got a very bumpy hour and a half mini bus ride to Lalibela.
On the mini bus Charlie's run of bad luck continued...
A Gentleman further up the bus was sick out of the window, a portion of the sick then re-entered one of the mini bus windows and struck Charlie on the right cheek. Not nice.
If an Ethiopian's strength's lie with their long distance running ability, then their weakness would surely lie with their susceptibility to motion sickness. Stick a bunch of them on anything that is not stationary and they will start throwing up everywhere.
We stayed in Lalibela for two nights firstly to visit the churches (a couple of photos below) and secondly to try and get a grip on the flea problem.
After a great meal with some friends we have met along the way, we organized our journey back to Addis through a local guy who was driving there the next morning.
