Hola Friends and Family in the UK...Christmas in Spain is celebrated differently to the way we celebrate in the UK. Christmas day is a holy day and the kids don't get presents until the 6th January which is "The Feast of the Three KIngs" (epiphany).
The Christmas theme here is the nativity scene, not Santa and Rudolph riding a sleigh! All shops display a nativity scene and in the flood lit square outside the church in Torrevieja there is a huge nativity arrangement, attracting visitors from far and wide with a real festive atmosphere. We have posted photo's for you to set the scene....The town is buzzing with late night shoppers Carol singers and festive lights.
We went upto Torrevieja last night to capture the scene, a bit of last minute shopping (Pat!) and enjoy the atmosphere. After which we found a sea side restaurant El Muelle and rounded off the evening with a lovely meal and a bottle of vino tinto del casa.....One to vist again!
Wishing you all a Merry Chrsitmas or as they say in Espania......Feliz Navidad.
