Left Boston reasonably early and headed for Salem as a stop off between check out and in times.

Salem, as expected, makes the most of its witch history ( bit like Pendle) but there are far took my small museums competing with each other. It just needs one big one.We visited the so called "Witch House" (actually the home of the judge who tried the witches) as it had best write up. Then we walked round the town and wandered through the graveyard (no entry after sunset p

by order of the Police).Quick drink at the Gulu Gulu cafe before we got back in the car.

Parking was really cheap in Salem (50c for hour) but this is not typical - Boston and NYC very expensive, far dearer than even Manchester's worst (Kendalls).

On subject of driving petrol is an average of $3.60/gallon (60p a litre) which shows just how much we are shafted in UK. I filled up the 4x4 for about £45 - half price of UK. But they do have tolls out here, cost me $4 to do the 70 miles today (crossed 2 state lines).

Journey from Salem to Kennebunkport was smooth and event less.Arrived at our destination (Rhumb Line Resort) just after 2pm, quick unpack and then poolside for beer and lunch then rest of pm in and out of pool. Also fitted in 40 mins in the gym.

Stayed in Resort for dinner, which was the Grilled Feast (lobster, clams, corn, chowder, spuds, dessert).Thelobster was very nice. All for $30 (£20).
