Another sunny, hot day.The girls went shopping and we went on the City Sightseeing Bus today. We got off once - to visit the Bunker Hill Monument and the Charlestown Naval Base.

Bunker Hill is topped by a 294 step obelisk which I went up and down (H hates narrow steps) taking some good pics at the top. There were good views of Logan International Airport and various rooftop terraces.

For anyone interested in history this was the first real skirmish in the battle for independence in mid 1770s.The British won this battle but not the war.

We also took in a harbour boat tour for 50 mins which gave some good views. We also saw John Henry's (owner of Boston Red Sox and Liverpool FC) big yacht moored in the harbour.

Headed back to hotel around 4pm.Well in time for their wine hour from 5pm.That was on 7th floor with a fine view over Boston. And more precious time away from kids.

H decided she wanted a curry so we googled it and found one by Harvard University. And it was really nice.Told the waiter all about the Curry Mile in Manchester which really impressed him.Had a quick look round the Uni, which is probably more famous now for being the birthplace of Facebook, then jumped on subway back to Kendall.

Planned route to Maine tomorrow - going to stop off at Salem first, then Kennebunkport.
