Left SD at 10am for the 355 mile trip to Lake Havasu City. Stopped mid way at a desert town called Yuma for a Subway. Also here my Sat Nav died - fatal software error.Going to try and fix it when I get an SD card adapter.
Passed the edge of a thunder storm near Quartzsite.Looked quite nasty.
Followed the Colorado River for the last 30 miles or so - very wide and blue against the desert sand.
Got to L Havasu about 5pm.Strange place - ony founded in 1964 and bought London Bridge in late 60s, shipped it here brick by brick and rebuilt it finishing in 1971.
Temps were still 99F at 10pm, but were in mid 100s in the day.Puts even Madrid to shame.
Had another Mexican at Javelina Cantina - Corona only $2 a bottle!
Filled tank up so it cost us $45 or £30 to do 350 miles in a 4 x 4.Fuel is so cheap here!
Anyway gotta go now - enjoying a Miller Lite.
