When we finally did manage to get some sleep, we were woken up again by someone talking on his phone in reception at 6am. Now, I guess he was being considerate by trying not to wake up all the people on the first floor, but he woke us up, so all his considerationness doesn't count. Thom took this opportunity to start watching stick-and-ball. Apparently some Master Golfer is playing in August, but why Thom's watching it now in April, I don't know. Maybe it's because we're in the Southern Hemicircle.

When that finished we checked out, and drove down the road to the YHA (no room for us last night), where we're spending tonight, Tuesday and Wednesday. We were looking forward to leaving "My Place" so much that we skipped breakfast (unheard of from me). The YHA is so much better - they are in general, even if they are $5 more a night.

We looked around the city a bit, and found a mall with open shops - how novel. We went in an outdoor shop and Thom bought some walking boots ready for Ayers Rock and The Red Centre. I also tried to buy my sister a birthday present. I asked the very nice girl for some help choosing, but her taste in clothes wasn't as good as her looks, so I gave up on her & tried ringing Naomi instead, forgetting it was 4:30 in the morning. She didn't answer. Tsch. Happy Birthday anyway dear. I'll get you something you'll like from Australia, which will be SO much better than what Dobby gets you, unless she makes you a cake or irons your clothes or summat or nuffink.

We also decided we should make the most of the car while we've still got it (spent an hour or so driving round all the hostels putting up posters - now we just have to wait for the phone calls!!), so we've booked to go to Kangaroo Island tomorrow for 1 night. It looks like a really beautiful place to go & from the pictures we've seen, we can't really miss it.

That takes us til Tuesday night. We've got Wednesday back at this hostel, then who knows, because it's easter & there's not much space at the inn... or the hostels, motels or hotels. Any ideas anyone?
