Today we thought we would go and invetigate the tennis centre and the MCG!!! being host to loads of random commonwealth games events only the week before we didn't hold out much hope of being able to get near. They are both pretty close to each other, divided by a train line, and the whole area was shut off for the 3 weeks before and the entirety of the games.

Luckily enough i happen to know a bit about tennis and in particular this venue, so i managed to drive us into the players car park, right in the centre of the complex. I must say i was aw-inspired. Ive watched this tennis venue on TV over the years and to be there was like going to the theater of dreams, the home of football, the pride of Merseyside, EVERTON. Lol,

anyway, we waked around, and a lot of it was shut up, the pro shop and the official merch shop, we then went around the outside courts and happened to slip our way into show court three, the rest of it was closed off and locked away, but all a ground staff didn't lock the gate behind him we just presumed it was now open to the public, lol.

So incredibly excited we walked out onto the stands surrounding it, had lots of photographs, in front of scoreboards and of the court and stands itself, then we decided to make us feel big and important we would sit in the players boxes, lol. We then found some steps down onto the court itself, the excitement rose, i think even Ben was excited, lol. Took more pics and pretended to walk out of the players tunnel, lol

we then went to the makeshift pro shop because they could be in the normal one, games related! We then watched a young girl and a lad be coached, the lad was rubbish but thought he was good, rather like Leyton Hewitt, lol. No seriously, all topspin and no power, even the coach was getting annoyed with him, telling him to actually hit it. The girl, who was half his size, and looked and good few years younger had him beaten on every shot!

We then tried to yet into the Rod Laver arena, for all u not conversed with tennis, the centre court equivalent of the Australian Open. This was also closed due to construction work from the closing of the games, and due to open in a couple of weeks time.

We decided to take the walk over the railway lines and try our luck at the MCG, this was even more disappointing, we could see it through the glass doors but the security guys stopped us from going in, saying it was still under construction and strictly a hard hat area! So we got as many pics as we could through the glass and moved on.

We then thought we would be even more clever and see if we could get onto the F1 track in the beast. Unluckily for us, but luckily for the FIA the track was closed for another week, due to all the taking down of race like paraphernalia.

So we went back to the nunnery to cook another of our famous 75p meals and then cruised the o.c. Areas of Melbourne, st Kilda. We also went hot spotting with the laptop and managed to do all our Internet related things for free! Another successful and beautiful day.
