Today was meant to be a day of adventure. I woke up at 8am to get ready to go kayaking in the sea in a seal colony for a couple of hours, and then in the afternoon, we planned to play what would have been my first round of golf.

Well, we've never seen wind like it.

And after the wind comes the rain. Both were canceled - not by us (though we were quite relieved when we got phonecalls!), and so we sat in the palace and contemplated our navels.
All day

Luckily it was a really nice hostel to be cooped up in. We thought about going for a drive, but our car wouldn't be safe driving through a storm. Nice Lady at shop suggested we go to the 12 Apostles for sunset, but when she told us it's an hour each way, we decided against it. Driving back on slippery mountain roads in pitch black night is not a good idea, whatever car you've got, but when we're planning on selling our car next week before we go to Alice Springs, it's especially not a good idea!

We watched a film on the hostel's wide screen, plasma TV (did I mention this costing less than 15 a night?!?), and met Sir Talkalot.

He sure could talk - thankfully I was in the mood for him, but Thom got pretty annoyed by him quickly. All he did was talk, whether we were eating, cooking, cleaning up, showering, or on the toilet. No joke - he wouldn't go away, but he was one of those people you just couldn't get angry at!

We've decided for tomorrow, if it's nice, we'll stay another night and try and go kayaking and golfing, but if the weather's as rubbish as it is today, then we'll carry on, see the 12 Apostles, and stay in another little village called Port Fairy.
