We're up around seven o'clock this morning and the four "adults" head off to Walmart for some last minute retail therapy and we see loads of hot air balloons floating above us in the early morning sun as we leave the store... quite a sight. Somehow we managed to detour into McDonalds on the way back to the villa...!!! Nice to know that our last American breakfast was to be a healthy one... not!!! The girls didn't seem too concerned about this though as they were devouring their McMuffins.

The weather is gorgeous today, so finishing the packing and getting ready to leave really sucks... as they say out here in the Sunshine State. Our intention is to head off for the airport around eleven-thirty, giving us plenty of time to get there, drop off the cars and book in for Anni's two-fifty stop-over flight to Philadelphia and our three-thirty stop-over flight to Charlotte. Hang on, did I say drop off the cars?... Noooooooo!!! It's not right, I want to keep my GT500... Getting depressed now...!!!

Just heard that poor Rob and Mandy missed their Paris transfer by two minutes and now have to wait for ten hours for the next available flight... not good news. We get to the airport in plenty of time, so a quick wander round the shops and a bite to eat are order of the day before heading for our departure lounge. And our flights leave on time and actually land a bit early at our stop-overs. There isn't much time at Charlotte before we load up again, so after a swift swirl round the Duty Free shop we're soon taking off (on time again) for Gatwick. We all manage to get a little bit of sleep to help with the jet lag, though not as much as we'd have liked.

The weather when we finally get to our destination is not the most welcoming, especially after leaving Orlando bathed in sunshine. It's six am and we're in the middle of a torrential rain storm, and it continued almost all the way home for us. Getting through Passport Control and Baggage Reclaim was pretty much standard and after a quick call our taxi was there to whisk us off to our cars at Gatwick Mail Centre. Now we had to run the rain gauntlet... and got drenched loading the luggage... reality bites big time...!!!
