Today is a game of two halves...!!!
First half:
We're off to Blizzard Beach... after huge breakfasts at Golden Corral. It was a little chilly still when we got to the park, so it wasn't overly busy to start with. We set up camp at the favourite place to the left/front of the wave pool and some went straight into the water while the less brave among us waited for it to warm up a bit. And warm up it certainly did... by mid-day it was absolutely sweltering with not a cloud in the sky. Now, we couldn't stay here all day as there would be much time needed for the Hallowe'en party preparations and dressing up, so we hit the road mid to late afternoon to get back to the villa in good time.
Second half:
Time to celebrate Hallowe'en at "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party" at Magic Kingdom. As soon as we were all ready, and the must have photos were taken, we headed off; getting some strange looks from fellow drivers when they spotted our get ups...!!! And the outfits were as follows: Elaine - Glam Witch, Elise - another Witch, Me - Ghost of King Tutankhamun, Shaun - a Monk, Anne - Mario, Faye - a Banana, Daisy - Luigi, Anni - a Monkey (watch out Faye!), Mandy - Glamorous Devil & Rob - a Pirate, and a motley crew we were too...!!! The event didn't seem as well organised as it had been previously, but we had a fantastic time all the same. We pretty much walked straight on to most of the rides and had to get around quickly as we didn't want to miss the amazing "Mickey's Happy Hallowishes Fireworks Show" or the scary(ish) "Mickey's Boo-To-You! Halloween Parade" after it. Throughout the night Cinderella's Castle is transformed with constantly changing multi-coloured lighting, and this is highlighted by the most spectacular fireworks display; the final burst of which was so bright that it was almost like daytime...absolutely blinking brilliant...!!! We all managed to squeeze in a few more rides before getting a good vantage point for the parade. Another triumph headed up by the Headless Horseman riding the route well ahead of the many varied floats and dancers. There wasn't too much time left after this finished, so we split up to hit the rides we all wanted to do before the park closed on the chimes of midnight...! By the time the weary revellers returned to the villa it was well past the witching hour and it was close to two o'clock by the time we finally hit the sheets.
