The first thing I’d like to mention is my late Uncle Bill, without his inheritance this journey of a lifetime would never have been possible. I feel very sad that, for reasons beyond my control, I never knew him, but at least I was able to meet three of his close friends and learn something of his life in Australia.
Before we left for this holiday our expectations of a great time were high, and Australia most definitely didn’t disappoint! We’ve seen some amazing diverse places and met some lovely people, all of whom helped make our time in Oz unforgettable. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the friends and family who invited us into their homes and without exception made us feel so welcome.
First it was Bill’s friend Yvonne at Casula, who kindly put us up for two nights, and her friends Gertrude (thanks for the loan of the bed) and Judy. Next it was John and Anthea at Tuggeranong, who looked after us for four days and took us down to the coast for a couple of nights. From there we stayed with Jeannette and Rex, and also met Jeanne, at Mandurama. I know the weather wasn’t great, but that didn’t matter in the slightest. After that it was east to Singleton for a lovely evening out with Leigh. And lastly it was up to Deidre at Ocean Shores and her friend Julianne. Thank you all, you can visit great places, but it’s the people like you that make it really special and memorable. I’d like to think that we’ll be able to meet up again one day in the future.
