Well, we've arrived in Australia at last. Our departure from Changi was delayed for nearly an hour because of a late connecting flight from Jakarta, but with the help of a good tail wind we only landed about 35 minutes behind schedule. Passport Control was pretty painless, and the taxi driver was waiting at McDonalds as had been arranged for us. 
For our first two nights here in Oz we're pleased to be staying with Yvonne, an old friend of my late Uncle Bill, who lives in Casula outside of Sidney. They'd been friends for many years and she has kindly offered to put us up (or was that "put up with us"...!) and give us some guidance on our time here. The drive to Yvonne's only took about half an hour, and she had breakfast all set up and waiting for us when we got there... fantastic.
The weather, as expected, is cool and sunny with just a couple of light rain showers. We've been over to the local Casula Shopping Mall for a little look around, and now we're back home for a spot of lunch!
