This road trip was a delightful, driving on the left is getting much easier.
I wish we had tried harder to take more photographs.  Cape Tribulation, a beautiful, large bay with silky sand, and Daintree is a tropical paradise.  Birds of every type flying from tree to tree - or like the huge Casowary, walking.
I wish we had been able to stay in the area for a few days.
The ferry over the Daintree River to Cape Tribulation is a ride back in time.  It is a cable ferry; a wheel on the side with the cable to the land, and slowly pulls itself across the river.  Only a 5 minute ride, the only way across to the Cape and Daintree village.

"The Daintree River ferry is the gateway to the solitary place on the planet where two World Heritage areas unite.  The Daintree Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef - majestic and unsurpassed in biological significance."

The river itself is also home to saltwater crocodiles, 'though we did not see any, so swimming is rather foolish.  At the Cape it is the stingers that you have to be concerned about, yet still people do swim there all the time.

Our stop for lunch, well seeing the hamburger that was brought to Samantha in the photos below....complete with beetroot, bacon, cheese, fried egg (!) along with the usual condiments and additions.
