4 hr train travel one way to reach Bath (1.5hrs to London, transit time between stations, then another 2hrs from Paddington Station to Bath) but well worth it!
Ancient city so first stop was the famous Roman baths, and beautiful Bath Abbey...all very pretty & fascinating. Wherever one travels in the UK it seems there are a myriad of fascinating historical sights to see, but some places obviously are just that much more of a must-see, which is how we rated Bath.
Also this was an exciting opportunity for our teen daughter to finally meet with 4-5 year internet penpal! An emotional affair, and the girls spent the best part of 6 hrs trying to get used to the fact that they had actually met in person, before we had to separate them fr who knows how long it will be before they meet again.
We all took the terrific hop-on/hop-off bus around the town to get our bearings. Not much time for a lot else unfortunately, due to 4 hr return trip to Crowhurst Park......tiring & long but a great day out!
Had we the opportunity to do this all over again, we would allow more time to be able to investigate Bath at a more leisurely pace, that's for sure!
