We got a minibus shuttle from Samuc Champey direct to Antigua.  This has the advantage of not having to make three bus transfers to get to Antigua and avoids the hassle and pollution of spending time in Guatemala City, but the disadvantage of being in a minibus the whole way rather than a big bus for most of the journey.  Taking the shuttle minibus cut the journey time to from 8 hours to 6 hours and also cut the circulation to my left leg for 4 hours.  It was a beautiful trip though, verdant mountains and steep river valleys similar to Lao, like Lao, the roads twisted and wound up and down the mountains, and just like in Lao, Tiana threw up.  This time the vomit bag had not been provided, so she threw up on Zakk, who was sleeping on her lap.  Zakk woke up, changed his shirt, and went back to sleep.

Antigua is a beautiful city, all pastel painted houses with red tiled roofs, everywhere you look there are inviting looking cafes and restaurants with shaded courtyards around fountains or candle lit tables (mostly at night).  Right now Guatemala is playing Argentina in a football friendly, so the entire town in watching the game, the Guatemalans are all expecting their team to get spanked, so there wont be any disappointment when the inevitable occurs.  On the other hand, should a football miracle occur, this is gong to be one hell of a party.  Im off to the pub.
