Buenas,
Apologies for the delay! Got a bit sidetracked in Nicaragua and forgot to blog! Boooo!
Finally hit the two months to go mark, hasn't time flown by! Stayed on the Isle de Ometepe for three nights, a little disappointing for the first two at Playa Valencia, it was a more secluded place than lonely planet said and it was difficult to get around. The third night in a different hostel was good, it had pretty forest paintings all over the walls :)
The move to Masaya was a bit stressful! Got stuck on a bus, not knowing which stop to get off and ended up in Managua, so had to swap buses and go back again on a direct bus. Big whooops!
Ended up staying in a hostel attatched the the fruit fruiti juice bar, always good, smoothies everyday for breakfast! Fell a bit in love with some melon and milk concoction, sounds weird but its delicious. Went to the local market and bought lots of goodies, saw lots of pretty nicaraguan paintings, if i could have shipped them back I would have bought some, but it works out pretty expensive!
A short stay in Matagalpa at hotel central, found most of the things to do were closed, unless you wanted to shop for western style clothes. Did go to a bar and sit surrounded by locals for a couple of hours, good for learning spanish. Discovered the Tica bus office was closed for three days straight, no idea when/if it ever opens! Ended up heading back to Managua to get a different Tica bus. The air con was so cold on the bus I got goosebumps in my shorts, I dont miss the cold! However the bus was pretty luxurious, if you're ever looking to bus it across central america, tica bus is the way to go!
Aaaaaand now into Honduras!
xxxxxxx
