South again leaving behind an almost 'cold' and wet Vezelay. On reading the map we spotted Fleurie.....and yes, considered this an unmissable place to stop for a day or two to chill out and warm up, and of course partake of some more deguste and local food. Superb campsite just outside of the village of Fleurie. Excellent private pitches and the site has a new small swimming pool. They also do winetasting most nights, together with sales. Quaint little village with a couple of restaurants sellig local produce and specialities....fab stop over.

The Beaujolais wine region is also nearby here. The village of Beaujeu has a good tourist office with a wine cellar below. Nearby is the Hameau En Beaujolias which does a worthwhile tour of wine making, vines, wine history and reviews all the local wines, dominated by everything bottled by George Duboeuf. PS. during July, and apparently high tourist season, we were the only tourists in the entire facility....Here's Johnny!!!! Check out video clip in Photo Gallery....
