Well we had a great last few days in Siem Reap. Drank in the Ankor What? bar each night and met a few Irish lads who we hung out with till we left. Great fun! Then on Sunday we got the bus down to Phnom Penh and when we got off the bus we got absolutely mobbed by tuc-tuc drivers trying to get us to go in their tuc-tuc, it wasnt very pleasant! But anyway we got one and booked into a hostel that was on the dodgiest streets ever. They were like these little laneways which were swarmed with tuc-tucs and poor cambodians sitting around begging and stuff. Didnt like it at all! But the hostel was a really chilled place and had lovely pizzas! :)

Anyway in Phnom Penh we went to a shooting range where we all shot guns at a target - myself, Triona and Sarah shared an AK47 so we got 7 bullets each. Great experience but wont be doing that again - Bit scarey! Then we went to the killing fields which were really sad because it was basically just a huge area covered in massive pits that were the mass graves of all the people killed by the Khmer Rouge in the 70's. It was awful, you could see clothes coming up out of the ground and there was a huge monument full of hundreds of skulls!

Then we went to the S-21 prison which was where all the people captured during the Khmer Rouge massacre were held and tortured. Really awful, we saw the cells they were kept in, the torture equipment used and all the pictures of the people killed.

Then after that we went to the russian market which was madness, there's just stuff of all kinds absolutely everywhere!! Could of stayed for hours just looking around. Anyway, then we finished off our day tour with a trip to a temple that was surronded by little monkeys. Pretty cool!

Anyway, we were happy enough to get the hell out of Phnom Penh and we're now down in Sihanoukville which is a nice beach resort in South Cambodia, but more about that in the next entry!
