We get up at 4:30 and finish packing. We have to catch our airport shuttle at 5:15. The guy driving the van is heavy set with red hair and a heavy cockney accent. The kids say he reminds them of Ron's father in the Harry Potter movies. We make a few stops to pick up additional people and then realize that the van isnt taking us to Gatwick Airport, he is taking us to Victoria Station where we will take a 30 minute train to the airport. This was a surprise to use, but the train was much more comfortable than the van and we were able to stretch out and relax.

We met a couple from California (the wife's name was Mona Lisa-no kidding!!) and a young man from Verona Italy who didnt speak a word of English. He was in a state of confusion when we pulled up to the train station (I could read his mind: "I WANT PLANE, NOT TRAIN!!). We were able to calm him down and get him on the train. Mona Lisa (seriously-that is her name) called her Mom in California, who is Spanish, to help with the translation. We were able to throw in in a few words and phrases that we learned and we ended up communicating with each other all the way to airport. Needless to say, he was relieved when he realized we were in an airport.

We went through customs and were on our way home. I dozed on and off, but it looked like our flight path was taking us over the North Atlantic because I could see ice flows in the water. About 2 hours into the flight I see a land mass and start thinking-this isnt the Concord, why are we in the US already. Then we crossed more water and came to another land for a long way before finally landing in Cincinnati. I looked at a map and realized that we had flown over Greenland and Northern Canada and were headed due south to Cincinnati.
