Finally at my first stop of Mo's tour!
I landed in Manila last night after a gruesome 19-hour flight. The Cathay Pacific airline wasn't too shabby, I must say. They had a huge selection of newly released movies that kept me up and entertained for 15 out of the 19-hr flight.

I stayed overnight at a guesthouse near the airport. Wasn't too bad given the proximity to the airport, but I payed $36/night for the stay, which included a shared bathroom/shower.
I am now staying in a private bungalow ON the beach in Dumaguete for $30/night. That is more like it!

This property (Liquid Dumaguete) is beautiful. Only 8 bungalows that all face the ocean. They have a rooftop bar/restaurant and a pool. Manicured gardens. This for 30 bucks is unbelievable. I am sitting on the porch facing the ocean as I type this blog entry :-)

A unique feature of this place is they serve a pre-fixe 3-course dinner menu for $10 family style. Visitors who sign up for dinner all sit together and eat dinner. How cool!

Heading to Apo Island for diving tomorrow!
