Next it was onto Queenstown with us. We got into Queenstown at about 7 o clock and found the huge campsite in the town, Lake View campsite, lovely place.
We were just heading out of the campsite to go to the shop when we heard a roar. It was Conor, we were delighted to meet him and Louise again. (We first met Conor and Louise on the Navimag in South America). We had hoped that we would meet them but sometimes these things are hard to arrange ( how handy a mobile phone would be). We had the dinner and then went out on the town, the minus 5 degrees pub was first on the list, to go in here you have to wear a top coat and furry boots, and the temperature was actually minus 6 degrees. Everything in the bar is made from solid ice, from tables chairs, ornaments, and even the glasses!!! So we enjoyed a cocktail and then headed out to the Buffulo Club. We stayed here for the rest of the night drinking handles (they're not pints mate, they're handles!!!) and talking about bungy jumps.

Next morning we were up and went for a walk around town. In fairness Q is a beautilful town, very well laid out and the setting witht the Remarkables mountains is gorgeous.

We went and watched the national finals of the Rugby 7s, it was very entertainnig and a great day. Lucky for us that we were here for this event as it added a real party feeling to the place. We had decided earlier that Kieran would do the bungee, the Kawarau river bridge jump ( which is the original bungee site) was the one to do. Conor was going to do it aswell so it was great that the 2 of us could psyche ourselves out of it together. We made it to the jump site in great spirits, saw a few jumps and then bit the bullet and signed up for it. 3 or 4 toilet breaks later and we were walking over the bridge to the jump spot. Kieran was going to go first, and we got all tackled up. The girl that was putting on the harness was a gas ticket. Of course she made a mistake tieing up one of the buckles, only for her colleague to point it out and then they have a bit of a row about what the right way to tie it is!!!! Then they go on about reading the fine print on the form i signed etc, great craic. I wanted to get a dip in the river, and they told me how to do the dive properly etc, then it was showtime. Step out to the edge and get your photo taken, next its jump time. Of course the girl loves this part so she comes along saying "come on paddy, are you going to jump or what?, come on paddy, jump or ill have to push you, come on paddy get it on!!!!!" So I waved to Orla and Louise and then I JUMPED!!!!!!!!!!!! Brilliant experience, I loved it. It is over so fast. that night bbq and a celebration for us.
14th Jan was raining so we basically spent the day on the internet. Conor and louise headed off, we were all very sad to be splitting up again but hopefully we'lll meet again Oz, bring it on!.
