"An average dog is a nicer person than the average person."
                                      -Andy Rooney

Our last day in Arizona! It has been such a great time but we are REALLY ready to get home.

We went to the dog agility meet in the morning. This is a very important part of Jim and Donna's lives and we were looking forward to seeing what it's all about. It was interesting watching the dogs in two different rings, or venues. We also noted the different experience levels. Of course, we were just waiting for Josie and Jim to run. (Donna usually would do this but she had pulled her hamstring and couldn't run for a while.) Josie did pretty well for only her second time.

We got the tour of the RV where we cooled off (HOT in Tucson, even in October!), sat and chatted a while with Jim, Donna and Steven.

After a while Steven led us to the interstate and we set out for Phoenix. It was only a couple of hours drive---pretty boring after the scenic routes we had taken previously. A bit later Steven met us at the La Quinta and drove us in his car to see a project he had worked on with his architectural firm for a few years. It was an emergency training facility where public safety workers like firefighters receive training. It was a huge complex and fascinating to see and hear him talk about his involvement. We let him know we were very impressed!

By the time we got back to the hotel, it was 3 PM and we were starved. There happened to be a Denny's next door so we didn't have to worry about getting lost trying to find a restaurant. We walked over and had an OK meal. When we returned to our room, we packed and enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine.  Just a matter of killing time until we wing our way home tomorrow.
