"One day's exposure to mountains is better than cartloads of books."
                                                                -John Muir

This is day 8 of our Road Scholar program, the last full day and very bittersweet. Time flies when you're having fun! Roger said they'd saved a couple of surprises for today. We're en route to Jackson where the program ends. First stop: Fishing Bridge, where Carol had worked as a ranger for some years. A gorgeous view presented itself at the back of the Ranger Station---Yellowstone Lake with frosted mountains on the far side.

On to Roger's old stomping grounds, West Thumb Geyser Basin. Some interesting features including Black Pool, which we agreed should have been called Blue Grotto. Near Fishing Hole Geyser we observed otters fishing for cutthroat trout.

After lunch we made another stop to saunter along the shore of Leigh and String Lakes with awesome views of the Tetons, one lovely perspective after another!

We arrived in Jackson late afternoon.

Dinner was at the historic Wort Hotel---a beautiful hotel with its interior design so suited to the surroundings.   A nice buffet included trout and buffalo prime rib, some local fare! The after-dinner remarks included thanks to Roger, Carol and Sean, our driver, and to all who made the trip so special! We briefly explored the hotel after dinner, admiring the western decor.

Good night, Wyoming! We're headed home to Orlando tomorrow!
