The back waters of Kerala were nice, but not the hyped up experience every guide-book suggests. I ended up sharing a boat ride with Sean and a super fun Moscow couple - Andrew and Merry. We spent 22 hours chit-chatting about world travels, stuffing ourselves with bananas and fighting off the mosquitoes. It was terrifically hot and stuffy under those mosquito nets, even with all the doors/windows open and all fans at full speed.
 
The boat crew was ultra friendly and stoned from early afternoon. I felt like I'm in a joke - you know, one of those jokes that starts with - American, Russian, Indian and Bulgarian are on a boat...
