It's not what you think... I had fallen in love with.... Chengdu - for its mild climate (after weeks of cold misery), comphy western feel and convenience and most of all ... the lovely, helpful, smiley people. However, the Chinese authorities broke my hard and refused to extend my visa which was expiring in 2 days. There was a sit available only on one flight to Bangkok and that was in a few hours, so I packed my bags and fled ... I had planned to stay for a week, but turned out it was a one night affair. I'm hoping to go back in the summer...
