Hello people,

I've been asked each of the following questions so many times, I thought it would be easier to answer them once and for all.

Q. Long time no talk. How have you been?
A. I've been great. I quit my job last month and going traveling around the world!

Q. What! Why?
A. I've always wanted to go to Australia. I'm taking the scenic route.

Q. Why now?
A. Because I have the cash and don't have the mortgage. Sort of now or never.

Q. Who are you going with?
A. Going by myself, but sure I'll meet lots of people on the way. Also, you are all invited to join at any point as long as you can tolerate cheap hotels, cold showers and 4 am rides on the chicken bus.

Q. How long are you going for?
A. It was meant to be 6 months with an option to extend. It looks like a year now.

Q. What are you going to do after?
A. What are you going to do in November 2008? See, I'm not sure either. For now the plan is to go back to London, get a job and a mortgage. I have one year to contemplate.

Q. When are you leaving?
A. I already kind of left. I'm in Brussels now for a few days, then back to Bulgaria for couple of weeks, off to Israel for couple of weeks, back to London for a day or two, Paris for Sandrine's wedding on Oct 6th. The big trip starts in London on October 8th.

Q. Where are you going first? What is your Itinerary?
A. I'm flying to Delhi and then making my way to Tibet as quickly as possible, while the weather is still good. The next entry into the blog will be my detailed itinerary, but in short it will be Tibet, Nepal, India, China, South East Asia, Australasia, South America, and East Africa.

Q. How much luggage are you taking?
A. One backpack, 2 cameras, my laptop (I need it to edit my pictures), 2 t-shirts, 2 pairs of slacks, 1 sweater, 1 jacket and of course 1 towel.

Q. Aren't you going to get bored?
A. I hope not. If I do, I'll hurry up to get back to rainy London and get a 12 hour a day job. In the meanwhile, I've started couple of projects that will keep me busy:

The first one is a travel journal that will be published weekly in LIGHT, the lifestyle magazine of Capital newspaper: http://capital.bg/light/ The focus would be on the local people I meet and their stories.

The second, but more important project would be raising money for Room to Read, a non-profit organization that builds schools and libraries, and provides long-term scholarships to girls in Southeast Asia, India and Nepal. I'm hoping you all would help a little bit to reach my goal to raise enough money to put at least 100 girls back in school. I'll write a separate blog entry on the charity, but if you are already convinced, here is where you can contribute:

Vicky, you are my new heroine!!!!
Seriously though, your trip has really inspired me and I love your two projects! I hope I get to join you in some leg of your travel. If nothing else, I will certainly see you when you are in South America, I hope.

Have a great time Vicky and I will try to read your posts as time permits. I will also try to advertise your charity effort and see if I can get more people to donate!

A big hug and kisses.

Your dear friend,

Sho
