After my training on Friday we all had a night out. I met two American girls at the bar and we took shots of SoCo. It was great, they kept passing me around, kissing me, in fact they were from California, so I of course I said of was from Cali, not DC. Now if they had been from Baltimore I would have said I was from DC, it's just easier that way. Am I right?
We were having fun until I turned around and saw this guy behind me, looking at me, clearly pissed off. The blonde girl tells me that he's her ex-boyfriend so she grabs me and quickly gets my number before he knows what is going on. Then I dance with her a little, that is, until he shows up behind me again and she goes off to talk to him. I just left it alone and went back to join my housemates. I guess the creepy guy wins out over me, again.
Lately it seems I been meeting girls in pairs, last week it was a blonde and brunette, both English, and, come to think of it the week before that too. Mike and Justen (my Eurotrip friends) you guys shouldn't have gone home, I've met a lot of cool girls. I could have used one of my friends last week when I met these two girls, talked to one a lot, too much maybe, but the other one stormed off and her friend had no choice but to chase after her. See, I can't do anything by myself, I know if Mike or Justen had been there we all would have ended up hanging out the rest of the night.
On Saturday I went to see a movie with Ivan and Andrea. I tried desperately to find Eurotrip but no luck. I am an American travelling through Europe (or I was) and the movie is about Americans travelling through Europe. Makes sense, no? Well, we saw The Motorcycle Diaries instead.
I'm actually glad I saw The Motorcycle Diaries instead of Eurotrip, they are both travel movies but The Motorcycle Diaries is definetly much deeper. In the movie Che Guevara and his friend travel all over South America, along the way they encounter many things, including lots of senoritas. Most of those scenes reminded me of our own trip. Like the one where Che and his friend are being chased by a mob.
But in the course of his travels Che changes and comes out a different person. I like to think that this trip has changed me, hopefully for the better, and I come home in December a different person, still Rob, but a little different.
The next day, me, Ivan and Andrea took a day trip to Leeds Castle. It's this magnificent castle out in the Kentish countryside. There is an extensive parkland area before you even get to the castle. Inside the castle they posted signs saying that you cannot take pictures, but I did, with the flash off and very discreetly. I mean, I took pics in the Ufitzi museum! Leeds is not going to stop me.
At the end of the day we were all worn out and ready to catch the bus at 4:50 back home, but guess what, Andrea read the ticket again and it said arrival time in London: 4:50, pick up in Leeds: 3:05. We missed our bus, so we had to take another bus to the train station where we caught a train to London. For awhile I thought we were going to have to hitch a ride back home, or, if that failed, sleep in the woods. As we were making our way back to the parking lot I was subtly scoping out place to crash among the trees and bushes.
