Week 12 y'all!

31/1/12 – We had some amazing weather on our first full day in Bali, this shows Kuta beach, with some great surf available. We underestimated the power of the sun so near the equator and got nicely burnt that day!

1/2/12 – February! Our last month in Asia dawns. The glory of yesterday's weather consigned to memory, some lashing rain forced us on to the balcony to play some cards and take shelter.

2/2/12 – Travelling from Bali to the neighbouring island of Lombok, Abi was delighted to still be en route after getting up at 5.30am for our transport. Long day!

3/2/12 – Having a late lunch in practically deserted Sengiggi, Lombok, it was a good opportunity to catch up on some blogging and let our parents know we were still alive! As you can see on the table, Abi was adding volumes to her scrapbook as well.

4/2/12 – Now on Gili Trawangan, one of a trio of tiny islands just off the North West of Lombok, we were subjected to an unyielding downpour, which turned the garden area outside our accommodation into a giant muddy puddle. Delightful. You can see how deep it was, the white steps on the left were almost underwater by this stage.

5/2/12 – What a difference a day can make! A mere 24 hours after the tropical torrents, we woke up to blue skies. We were catching the sun on the beach, and Abi ended up playing around with a wee kitten for a while.

6/2/12 – Our last day on Gili T, the island had no traffic except horse-carts and bikes, so we rented a couple and cycled a lap around the island, taking almost an hour. Perfectly flat and devoid of traffic, it really was the perfect place to explore by bicycle.
