western france was full of morning wake-ups to the hunters off somewhere never too far. shooting. we weren´t sure at what but as early as 4am they were out there. we are glad to be out of hunting season and into the pilgrimage... let us explain... right now we are accidentally on a historical sacred pilgrimage route which is very popular, walking sticks, backpacks, christian pilgrims galore. camino del santiago is what it is called and it goes from spain to france. we just happen to be going the same way but rumor has it there is a fountain flowing wine up ahead. we camoflage as pilgrims whenever convenient including last nights´ 5 euro stay at a pilgims´ rest dorm. pilgrims over pack their backpacks and smoke a lot too, okay enough of that.

suddenly we´re in spain, according to plan, one month from our start. yes we crossed the pyrenees, lost on a farm road which led into a sheep ranch, through high winds and beautiful views, next thing you know it´s spain. the wind had no mercy at 35mph. gusting lucie off her bike, kurt using his own shirt to safely paraglide about the peaks, and anna suffering an ankle gouging by her bike while trying to decipher french dialogue from the only unsympathetic car that passed on our road all day. we´re adjusting to spain and basque in pamplona and running with the bulls... check out our new photos.
