When we left Antarctica, we came through the Drake Passage again. I was slightly disappointed that the weather was perfectly nice and calm. Don't get me wrong, it was very windy and wavy, just not how the Drake Passage is normally supposed to be.
Shortly after leaving Antarctica, a plane crash happened. The scientists were friends of Dave Bresnaham, and were traveling to the South Pole station. The South Pole station is an international station, situated right at the South Pole. Dave said at a lecture that he was having a sad day because of his friends on the plane. There is no way they could have survived the crash. The wreckage site was found, but it is too dangerous for any planes to land there.
