One word: AMAZING. Or it can also be described as incredible, marvelous, fascinating, wonderful, stunning, unbelievable, fabulous, extraordinary, or awe-inspiring. So that's 10 words, but they all work. Antarctica was really amazing. I have never experienced anything like it before. Every time I looked out our balcony, there was a gorgeous view or an ice-raft full of penguins floating by. I saw so many types of penguins, seals and whales. I wish I would have been able to get off the ship, and walk on the icebergs amongst the penguins and seals. I am so glad we were upgraded to a balcony suite though. It was so cool to wake up in the morning, walk out on our balcony, and see a whale spouting water 30ft away. I don't think I have to say anymore, the pictures tell it all.
We also got to see tons of scientist stations, from tons of different countries. We actually stopped near Palmer Station, one of the 3 US stations, and a bunch of scientists got on the ship. They gave a presentation (actually two, so everyone on the ship could make it), and answered lots of questions. Then they drove back to the station on their little zodiac boats, the same way they got to the ship.
