We did an excursion in Puerto Madryn. We went to a beach FILLED with sea lions! I was so surprised with how many there were, even after going to Antarctica. The types we saw were Southern Fur Seals and South American Sea Lions. We were hoping to also see some elephant seals, but there weren't any on the beach that day. The sea lions were really big, and the males actually had manes. I never knew that seals actually had fur before the cruise. They also roared. I guess they fit their names as sea lions. There were tons of little baby sea lions, too. They looked like little puppies stumbling around. The "sea lion beach" was on the Valdez Peninsula. It is protected and a UNESCO world heritage site, because of all the wildlife there.
