Tamboti-
Today we took mostly off-roads. We saw a lot more giraffes, a couple of ostrich and more lions. And all the other usual animals. We saw 4 lions eating their fresh catch. We just missed the chase! It was a water buffalo, which is a huge thing for lions to hunt down. There were already vultures and jackals gathering for when the lions were finished. When we first came, there was just a female lion eating and 2 others laying with full bellies. Then a male came and started to fight with the female. She left and the male just tore into the buffalo. He tried to drag it up the hill too, but it was too big and heavy. We went to a watering hole today where there were supposedly always cheetahs. It was all dried up though, and we didn't see any. I'm keeping my eye out for cheetahs, leopards, rhinos and African wild dogs. There are supposed to be rhinos where we're going tomorrow, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! We are staying in Tamboti tented camp tonight. I thought we would have kind of a crappy tent, but it's so not. It's a safari tent and has a wooden structure, but tent walls. It has a bathroom with a sink, toilet and shower, a fridge, beds, a ceiling fan, a deck, and a kitchen area with a stove. Definitely the best tent I've ever stayed in! I heard that there are honeybadgers all over in this camp. They will get into your kitchen and bang the pots and pans around, searching for food. When we were sitting out on the deck, we already spotted a honeybadger, but it ran away when it saw us. We also saw a genet. They are these cute little cat/rodent things with leopard spots and a striped tail. We heard lots of hyenas and some howling too.
