Letaba-
This morning we woke up and found a present from the vervet monkeys. Their poop was on the kitchen table and all over the floor! Today we saw lots of elephants, hippos, a few more lions, more of those red-faced birds, impala, bushbuck, warthogs, and other animals. Later when we got back to camp, there were bushbuck and little vervet monkeys roaming around. In one hut, a monkey had snagged a bag of chips and was snacking on them. We have the absolute best hut in camp. It is right on the perimeter, with a wide open view of a river. It's about the only perimeter hut where the view isn't blocked by trees. We have to share a communal bathroom, but we are right next to it and we are the closest hut to the restaurant. We did a night drive tonight for two hours. We saw lots of elephants and impala, some hippos, a couple of jackals and a honey badger. The honey badger was just a tiny little thing, the same size or even smaller than a regular Wisconsin badger. But the driver said they are mean, nasty little things. They will chase away or fight adult male lions (and win!). A lot of the times you see severe injuries on zebra or impala, it's from a honey badger. Yeah, pretty nasty little things!
