Where I stayed
We stayed in Kempton Park (near Johannesburg) for 2 nights, for a layover and to see some attractions. We got there late one night and then left early in the morning 2 days later, so we had one full day to do stuff. We ended up going to the Cradle of Humankind, where the earliest human fossils were discovered. We did a tour of the cave and went to the museum, which contained many of the fossils discovered. At our hotel, the Airport Game Lodge, there were some animals like ostrich, deer-related animals and some geese and other birds. We got containers of food to feed the animals. I really wanted to feed the ostrich, but I was afraid she would peck really hard and hurt my hand. Eventually I did though, and it didn't hurt. The ostrich was really cute, but when I tried to feed some other animals she would come up and eat the food out of my hand. There was a male ostrich too, but he was too scared to come up to me. The next morning when we were going to leave for the plane, there were ostrich egg omelets on the breakfest buffet. I tried one. It tasted like any normal egg, but in my opinion, way more flavorful and better than chicken eggs.
