We had been packing since Friday night and finally got away at 2:45pm. A lot latter than planned but still got away on the Monday! The girls are over-excitred and sending us MAD! They are just so keen to get away. It all fits - thank goodness for the McDonalds roof pod. A quick photo and away. Planned destination is Cowra, but leaving so late we were not too sure where the first night would be.
The council is doing up the road so about 2k up they have a set of lights - red just for us. Stopping, Owen let down the window and see and smell smoke pouring out from under the rear tyres. Don't tell me our holidays have come to an end so quickly. Not sure what caused it - couldn't see where it was coming from, but expect it was the exhaust getting really, really hot going up the mountain and the mounts letting off some steam.
We get to Crookwell and with no caravan park we decide to head to Boorowa. First night though is at Wyangala state rec park on the lake. Not that far from Cowra. Great camping ground from what we can see on a pitch black night! Moon came up about 8:00 enough to be able to see - shinning across the lake. Magic night, but cold ~ 11oC.

About time you guys nicked off....
Smoke pouring out from the Prado....how many times did I tell you to buy a Nissan? :)
Re: About time you guys nicked off....
Thank goodness I've got a Toyota and not a Nissan cause we'd still be stuck in Jamberoo. Did a bush fix today and have totally stopped the problem which was due to the mounts in the new exhaust system. My Prado is now special it has two heat shields in the place where there normally is one, its just that they are half the size and have a huge burn separating them in the centre.
No Point of Return
Hi Guys, You sure have covered some ground in short period. Low temps don't appeal to Kate! Hope the exhaust incident will be your only drama-touch wood. Stay healthy and keep us posted. Regards The Duckers. PS Let me know if you need any poles??????
Happy Birthday
Wishing Samantha a Happy 8th Birthday today. Love from Chelsea
PS. Maria, I expect you will be cooking up a bush birthday cake in the camp oven! Send us a photo if you do! I'll just be popping down to Woollies to get Chelseas cake today.
GO THE NISSAN
Could have towed you on yr holiday with the Nissan, wish we were there too!!, cold here in sunny QLD also don't you worry
The Great Escape
The great escpape looks great!
The children looked cold in the pictures...but more importantly...care free...so what's a little exhaust trouble...think of the troubles you have left behind...on second thoughts ...maybe not ...stay focused! ENJOY!
Cheers from the 'old' couple!
