We are off exploring again!  It is January in Nova Scotia and freeze your butt cold.  Yes, we are feeling somewhat guilty about leaving all of you good folks behind in the cold but thankfully this will pass at about the time we begin removing our winter garments in preparation for our arrival in the sunny south.  OK, OK, I know it is winter and our house photo was taken in the summer:  I guess this is our wish for a warm and green February and March for you folks at home while we are in sunnier climes.

On Saturday our very good friend, Fran Lourie, dropped by and presented us with a wonderful bottle of ice wine to help send us on our way.  Fran, the wine has been lovingly packed and will be consumed on one of our first sea days.  There will, of course, be a special toast of thanks in your honour.

Our best friends and close neighbours, Tim and Margaret Jansen, drove us in to the Inn On The Lake today (near the Halifax airport) as we have an early flight out tomorrow.   This little pit stop also gave us time to unwind from all of the last minute panic attacks..... have we packed the right stuff? .... too much?..... do we have all of our tickets?..... did we remember to turn off everything that needed to be turned off?..... were our instructions for our house sitters clear and detailed enough?.... did I get the name tags right and did I remember to send an update to Gail?... what did we forget?  Oh well, too late now so we will sit back, enjoy a good meal, and relax before we set out for the airport at oh-dark-hundred.

Next stop Walt Disney World, Florida.

P.S.

There is one additional, somewhat out of sequence, photo included here.  This was taken early in the year in Moncton when we met fellow South American cruisers Gail and Murray Zangen.  Our CruiseCritic group is known as the Salsas 49'ers and our meeting in Moncton turned out to be the first official gathering of any members of this group.

Good job
The most important part is getting away. You did it. I've got a checklist I use whenever I leave the house on a trip, but knowing you........ you have it bound color coded and timestamped. Enjoy!
