Operation Deutschland, Part 1
A little bit of excitement from a volcano in Iceland--hah! By the time I checked on the UPS flight I was trying to get on Wednesday morning, they had moved it up 2 hours so I had enough time to jump in the car and get to Louisville just in time (fortunately I had kept packing on Tuesday). The flight was uneventful--did not see any ash--fairly clear over England (saw London). The ramp at Cologne was not busy--not too surprising. I am staying in a hostel near the train station and cathedral (Dom) in Cologne. So far I have not heard Sven and Dieter, the techno twins, making any noise. Talking to Ruth, her flight is still going as scheduled (arrives Munich Friday morning at 8).
