Ouro Preto is the heart of Brazil's colonial, religious, and slave history. The historical center of gold mining, Ouro Preto is among the top three tourist destinations in Brazil. We stayed in the town for two days and enjoyed the tranquility, learned a lot about Brazil's slave trade and mining past, and reminisced about La Paz, Bolivia because the town had a similar feel.
