8.30am and awaiting lockie unlocking locks!  Dave goes to investigate and finds no padlocks, so we didn't need the lockie to unlock the locks!  What a load of b.....locks.   You would have thought the lockies would have given us the go ahead.  9.15 decide to start our upward ascent.  Had gone through 4 locks when the lockies appeared.  "You went through the bottom lock at 9.30 didn't you?  The padlocks have been taken off".  "Well wasn't us" says Dave.  "We thought it was you".  Then Babs remembers she saw a torchlight at about 1am.  So we figure scroats came in middle of night to remove them!  Anyway, we got some help from lockies up the next three, then boats coming down so that was a great help.  So here we are with a restriction because of the lack of water and it is pelting down with rain.  Dave soaked to skin once more. More help from lockie Paul as we approached last 6 locks.  Did all 23 in 6 hours. Had evening meal at Addlington and then decided to cruise a bit more to enable us to reach Johnsons Hillocks ready for the 10am deadline there.
