It's so strange to hear people who sound the same as me. I guess I'm a Midlander whether i like it or not! My bags arrived safe and sound, and I made it to tourist info without any hassles. The first train home meant a journey to Birmingham New Street station, at rush hour. Nightmare! Would I manage. It was cold, cold, cold - but by lugging my bags with me I hardly felt it at all.
It struck me as I stumbled around the stations, crashing through doors and forcing my way on to a train (I missed the first one as there simply was no room), how miserable and mute the people here are in the UK. In Mexico, everyone says hello and helps. In Birmingham, people huff and pass judgement: 'How inconvenient for that girl with bags to get on this train, and in our compartment of all things!'. Oh well. That's their business. Mine is to get home and see my family as quickly as possible. So once at New Street I made my way to my train, and managed an earlier connection.
I'm coming home mum, now, I truely am. (Even though it is dark by 4pm - ughh!)
