We checked in at the Penninsula Excelsior Hotel (I stayed there when I went to Greece) and headed off to The Raffles Hotel. Took Davey up to the "Long Bar" or Peanut Bar as it can be known and sat and did the beer, Singapore Sling, peanut thing. It was my second time there but Davey's first and he enjoyed the visit......... $23AUD for the Singapore Sling and $18AUD for the beer took the edge off but you have to do it if you come to Singapore...... thank goodness they did'nt charge for the peanuts.
Found a little shop that Dave liked..... sold Tuna buns, cheese buns, egg and bacon buns etc etc. Cheap too! Dave was in his glory - he thought it was great with Singapore Airlines feeding and drinking us all the way over from Australia.
Walked around to Chinatown and the night market (Pagoda Street) and had a browse before heading back to the hotel for a 4.30am wake up call for the airport.
