I had planned to go to Santa Margherita afterlunch. During lunch it started to rain. Heavily. Still, being a crazy Scot who doesn't take any notice of rain, and having put here that I was going to go, I set out up some crazily steep streets and got myself there. I had looked up the
directiong before on Google maps and there is something massively satisfying about seeing the streets on the computer and realizing you've found the same one in real life. I do take pleasure in the simple things
Anyway, so I got up and then realized that it wouldn't open for another 15 minutes so hung about in the rain for some more time. It's a good thing that wet and disheveled is totally a good look for me...Still, it was worth the wait. It's bellisima inside! The fact that there was only one other party of four added to the air of epic-ness. Right at the front of the church is the actual body of Santa Margherita, and apparently my inner anthropologist is really alive, because instead of being grossed out, which would be the logical response, I was totally absorbed by it! Also, is it just me or is seeing the body of an actual saint as exciting as seeing a celebrity. Well anyway, with me it is.
Returning home Metta came back and, after having Chinese, we played "vets" (which really only consisted of Metta attacking some stuffed toys with pens). I also had to buy stuff from her for my 'pets' and I payed for them with a key. On receiving the key Metta went a bit Gollum on me, shouting "The key!" every time she left it somewhere. then running off to retrieve it. I've just go to keep an eye out that she doesn't start walking on all fours and talking in a raspy voice.
That was really about it for today. Tomorrows activities are relatively unknown, except for the delightful pass time of food shopping with Metta. The joy...
