So today started off like any other here. I woke up, took Fiammetta to school, wafted around doing things around the house for Livia or the kids and then picked up Fiammetta and her friend, Sara, from school at one. That is when the normality ended. I left them to play after lunch and when I returned to check on them just after four, they had multiplied! There were now two girls and three small boys!
To keep them entertained Livia got some ready made cookie dough and we let them cut out shapes. Needless to say a group of three and six year olds do not make tidiness a priority. There was dough on the floor, the table, the children and don't even get me STARTED on the flour! Besides the mess, it was fun to watch them. You have no idea how much joy a three year old boy takes from making a long, thin 'snake' of dough.
I then took Fiammetta to her dance class, and while she was very happy for me to take her there, and knew I was picking her up after, nevertheless, when she saw me afterwards a pout appeared on her face and she insisted that she wanted mummy to pick her up. I told her to suck it up...I lie, I didn't. I just got on with it and let her walk home with her arms folded and a huffy look on her face. I knew pretty much the second she got home she would forget that she was annoyed so it was all good.
That was pretty much it for today, and while it doesn't seem like much I tell you, five small children can really take it out of you!
Ciao
P.s. all the snow has disappeared sadly, yet the cold has decided to hang on with a vengeance
