Well, you'll all be excited to know that I did indeed uphold my promise to go look at some of the historical sites of Cortona, cultural being as I am. After taking both children to school (both late. Filammetta because her teachers thought it would be fun and productive to have a two hour strike, Camillo because...he's three and timetables don't apply to him) I took myself off around the streets of Cortona. Now, I'm not going to lie, I don't really know what the places I saw were called, apart from Chiesa di Gesu, but I saw them and that's what counts. After an hour or so of that my feet were loathing me, as were my thighs... and my face and hands from the cold...and pretty much every other part of my body so I gave up and went home. Still, an hour of culture is better than no culture at all.
The rest of the day passed fairly uneventfully, although I did learn to cook fish the Italian way. Or at least AN Italian way.
When the children got back from school I played a couple of hours of 'shop' with Filammetta. Now that may sound boring but it was actually very informative. Not only did I learn that, contrary to what the rest of the world thinks, according to Filammetta there is such thing as a 7 euro note, but also that it can buy you two pieces of ribbon tied together. Who'd have thought it?
This evening was nice, because after dinner Livia made crepes and then it started to snow properly. The only down side was that the rest of the family had, amongst other things, tongue for dinner and it was sitting right in front of me. Bleugh!
I have no idea what tomorrow will hold but no doubt it will be something life alteringly amazing...
Ciao
