Vancouver was a great getaway, similar to Seattle but different enough to make it feel more European. This weekend was all I could hope for, and more. The cute water taxi to Granville Island, the mob scene at Granville Street. We were freaked out of the possibility of being caught because we were 5 in a 4-person room, but being able to whip out our driver's licenses and legally enjoy a cocktail in a classy restaurant playing hockey in the background was well worth every nervousness. Sia and I found some great shopping and bought jeans we fondly refer to as our "Canadian pants" now. We also came across a Jelly Belly car and scored some free packets of those precious, colorful tasty little beans. Granville Island has one of the most pleasant markets I've ever seen (save for Pike Place - I'm a Seattle Snob at heart.) The club scene was a bit pricey, but the Cellar was pretty wild, cliche bar fight included. We were a great group of easy-goin' gals who enjoyed this city's pretty streets and I am thankful to have such amazing friends who are not just smart enough to have passports but help make a 20th birthday incredibly special and go on a crazy adventure with me!
