News from Debbie:
I started off a bit anxious about driving the giant truck and trailer. No rearview mirror, no looking back to check if there are cars, only mirrors to see. Now I know how truckers feel and why you shouldn't stay in their blind spots. Once we were on the interstate, we made good time and stopped for the night in Yukon, OK. Yukon is home of Garth Brooks and we exited on Garth Brooks Blvd.
If you're ever in Yukon, make sure you go to Primo's for dinner. The food was wonderful. I ordered the Asiago Spinach Chicken and Sara ordered the Caesar salad with sauteed shrimp. We finished with a hot chocolate chip cookie. We have most of the cookie for a snack on the road tomorrow.
Tomorrow, we're off to Memphis and a tour of Graceland. ELVIS lives!
News from Sara:
We hit the road early this morning after getting waffles and cereal for breakfast at the hotel. We got on the interstate, and I slept almost all the way to Oklahoma. :). At least I didn't have to worry about Mom's truck-driving skills. Turns out she's a natural. :). We stopped for lunch at Subway and then made one last stop at the Oklahoma welcome center before making it into Oklahoma City and Yukon. Home of Garth Brooks!! :). We walked over to an Italian restaurant for dinner, where I finally got my shrimp fix! Anyway, it was delicious. We're on the way to Memphis tomorrow. Graceland!... yay. :).
