News from Debbie:

After 3,000 plus miles, we finally ran out of road going west and had to head east to Huntington Beach, Surf City USA.  The day was beautiful for me (high 70's) but a bit chilly for Sara who wanted to get a tan.  We drove up the Pacific Coast Highway for a bit.  It was different than VA beach.  Not all the hotels on the beach, they're across the street and not as many as we have.  The Pacific is blue but there are oil platforms off the coast.  I was kind of surprised.  I also figured out what's wrong with the sky, there are NO CLOUDS.  I guess because of the smog.

We had a great day and will be on our way tomorrow.

News from Sara:

We finally got to the west coast!! The Pacific was pretty cool. It wasn't much different from the Atlantic, but the beaches were a bit more crowded. It took us more than an hour to find somewhere to park, and we still had to pay. We got on the beach and hung out for a bit, but the Pacific coast is alot colder than the Atlantic, so it got cool fast, ruining my tanning opportunity. :). And I still don't understand Mom's deal with the sky. I think it looks the same as at home. :). We're heading back east tomorrow.
